How to Start

  1. On the Organizer, do one of these:

    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, in the Activity Library, open the Dynamics CRM tab.
      2. On the Dynamics CRM tab, drag the Create Connection activity onto your process.
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.
  3. On the Create Connection Configuration screen, click Create Connection .

Procedure

  1. On the Create Connection Configuration screen, in the Dynamics CRM field, select your Dynamics CRM access token.

    To create a new access token, click Add Token . For more information, refer to New Dynamics CRM Access Token.

  2. In the Connect From - Entity Name list, select your entity.
  3. Complete this field as necessary.
    Field Name Definition

    Connect From - Entity ID

    Function:
    Specifies the Dynamics CRM entity ID.
    Accepted Values:
    A valid Dynamics CRM entity ID.
    Default Value:
    None
    Accepts Process Data Variables:
    Yes
  4. In the Connect From - Connection Role list, select your connection role to connect from.

    When you select the connection role, the role ID is completed in the Connect From - Connection from Role ID field.

    Function:
    Specifies the connection role from the list to describe the relationship between the participants in the connection.
    Accepted Values:
    A valid connection role.
    Default Value:
    None.

    When you select the Entity name, the connection role shows in the Connection Role field.

    No
  5. In the Connect to - Connection Role list, select your connection role to connect.

    When you select the connection role, the role ID is completed in the Connect From - Connection from Role ID field.

    Function:
    Specifies the connection role from the list to describe the relationship between the participants in the connection.
    Accepted Values:
    A valid connection role.
    Default Value:
    None.

    When you select the Entity name, the connection role shows in the Connection Role field.

    No
  6. In the Connect To - Entity list, select your entity.
  7. Complete this field as necessary.

    Function:
    Specifies the Dynamics CRM entity ID.
    Accepted Values:
    A valid Dynamics CRM entity ID.
    Default Value:
    None
    Accepts Process Data Variables:
    Yes
  8. (Optional) To store the new connection ID in a process data variable, add the variable from the Process Data screen to the field Store New Connection ID in Custom Attribute or Schema.

    Specifies the process data variable that contains the connection ID.
    Accepted Values:

    You can use Process Data screen to specify a process data variable.
