Prerequisites

Good to Know

  • You must specify the file or file ID to create a link to share the file.
  • In most text fields, you can use process data variables as an alternative to literal data values.

How to Start

  1. On the Organizer, do one of these:

    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, in the Activity Library, open the OneDrive tab.
      2. On the Dropbox tab, drag the Create File Shared Link activity onto your process.
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.
  3. Click Create File Shared Link .

Procedure

  1. On the Create Shared Link for File Configuration screen, in the Dropbox field, select your Dropbox access token.

    To create a new access token, click New Dropbox Access Token.

  2. Complete this field as necessary.

    File Path

    Function:
    Specifies the Dropbox file. The activity uses the location of the specified file when the process runs.
    Accepted Values:
    • Choose File Path - Specifies an absolute path for the file.
    • Dynamic File Path - Specifies a process variable that stores the path of file.

  3. (Optional) To connect the response to a process data variable, complete this field as necessary.
